First Draft is for writers and artists at the very start of something. It’s for when the spark of an idea is there, and you need the space to let it out. It could be the book that’s been burning into you, that memoir you want to outline, the script you are hoping to thrash into a first draft.
The Finish is for artists approaching the end of a project – circling an ending, hesitating over final decisions, or perhaps struggling to let something go.
Finishing is its own kind of work. It requires clarity, judgement, and the willingness to commit – often without certainty. This residency creates the conditions for that moment.
Open Studio is the most open of our residencies. It’s for artists and writers at any stage – beginning, middle, end, or somewhere in between.
There’s no agenda beyond working. You’ll follow the same shared rhythm – optional morning work, long uninterrupted days, light evening check-ins – but without a prescribed outcome.
A guided week for writers working with lived experience – memory, voice, structure, and distance. This residency supports the move from personal material into shaped work, with space for reflection.
Through a blend of workshops, self directed writing practice, and group discussions, you’ll have an opportunity to learn how to craft an authentic, engaging narrative that resonates with readers.
This residency is structured around the core elements of long-form fiction – story and character, structure, plotting, and momentum – with generous time to work and space to think. Less talking about writing, more actually doing it.
Full board – facilitated sessions – self-directed work sessions – optional readings – writing exercises – optional excursions – walks – lakes
A focused work week for scriptwriters who want time, space, and a productive environment of people in your field. We’ll look after you, feed you well, and create the right environment to get brilliant work done – whether that’s the first 30 pages, a finished pilot, or a solid outline for a feature.
Setting work intentions, optional morning sessions, uninterrupted stretches to create, and evening check-ins to reflect and reset. Working alongside others who are in the same mode, whether you talk about your work or not, brings a special kind of propulsion.
