First Draft

For beginning work - or beginning again.

First Draft

First Draft is for writers and artists at the very start of something. It’s for when the spark of an idea is there, and you need the space to let it out. It could be the book that's been burning into you, that memoir you want to outline, the script you are hoping to thrash into a first draft.

The focus here is momentum, not polish. Pressure is kept low, expectations are kept realistic, and the emphasis is on getting material down - words on the page, forms taking shape - not perfection but the realisation of the project.

Days follow a simple rhythm: Setting work intentions, optional morning work in quiet, long, uninterrupted stretches to create, and evening check-ins to reflect and reset. Working alongside others who are also starting creates a particular kind of energy - encouraging without being performative.

Full board - facilitated sessions - self-directed work sessions - optional readings - writing exercises - optional excursions - walks - lakes
